Singer Michel’le has been very vocal about her relationships with both music heavy-hitters Suge Knight and Dr. Dre. She’s been even more vocal about her abusive relationship with rapper producer Dr. Dre. The R&B singer has now taken her story to the screen. Lifetime is presenting her biopic this October. Surviving Compton: Dre Suge & Me will be centered around her relationships with both men.
The TV movie came to life last year with the controversy surrounding the hit film “Straight Otta Compton,” that blatantly ignored her [Michel’le] and Dre’s abuse. The Something in my Heart singer spoke out publicly about Dr. Dre’s abuse after the release of the film. She told VladTV “I was just a quiet girlfriend who got beat on and told to sit down and shut up.” Dee Barnes, the journalist Dre assaulted at a party in 1991 also spoke out on the abusive events.
The Lifetime biopic premieres October 15th. Watch the one-minute trailer below…
